Episode. 02  "Nandini - The Holy cow"      When there was a famine in his kingdom, Vishwarath decides to get Sage Vashista's holy cow Nandini to cook for his people.  And when all attempts to get her fail, he chants "om".  Gets blessed with all the celestial weapons and challenges Vashista. Episode. 03  "Trishanku" (The Rolling Stone)      When all his efforts to overpower Vashista fail, Vishwarath vows to become a Shatriya Bramha sage.  Meanwhile, when Harishchandra's son Satyawrat tries to bribe Vashista's son Shakti, the latter curses him and makes him a Trishanku (rolling stone). Episode. 04  "Gayatri"      Vishwarath's concentration forces the gods to create mother "Gayatri" who grants him the name Vishwamitra.  The newfound sage promise to help Trishanku go to heaven with his body and when the gods refuse to help him he turns to mother Gayatri. Episode. 05   "New Heaven"      Vishwamitra does manage to send Trishanku to heaven, but Indra throws him out.  The enraged sage then starts creating new heaven till Indra sends sage Brahaspati and Narada to stop him. Episode. 06  "Sage of the Universe"      Narada Investigates Vishwamitra and asks him to become "Sage of the Universe" and co-creator with lord Brahma.  Lord Indra employs various means to try to break the sage's penance, but does not succeed. Episode. 07  "Menaka"      Indra sends Menaka to try and distract Vishwamitra from his penance.  She endorses the support of Rati and Kamdev in trying to draw his attention. Episode. 08  "Vishwamitra marries Menaka"      Vishwamitra falls for Menaka's charms and breaks his penance.  He marries her and they have a baby girl, but Lord Indra wants Menaka back in heaven. Episode. 09   "Shakuntala"      Indra forces Menaka to go back to heaven and on hearing the truth Vishwamitra abandons their daughter.  The baby girl is adopted by sage Kanva and is named Shakuntala. Episode. 10  "King Dushyant"      King Dushyant falls in love with Shakuntala and after getting into Gandharva marriage with her, he leaves her promising to return in three days.  But sage Durvasa curses Shakuntala because she ignores his call... Episode. 11  "The Ring"      Shakuntala gets pregnant and is sent to king Dushyant, who does not recognize her.  She has lost the ring that is supposed to make him remember her... Episode. 12  "Bharat"      King Dushyant finally gets the ring and he brings Shakuntala and her son Bharat back to his kingdom.  Meanwhile Indra calls a meeting of all sages and asks sage Vishwamitra to test the truthfulness of Raja Harishchandra. Episode. 13   "Raja HarishChandra"     Vishwamitra and Nakshatra forces Harishchandra to leave Ayodhya with his family and Nakshatra employs various means to torture and scare them, but Harishchandra braves it all. Episode. 14  "Veerdas"      Harishchandra is forced to sell his wife Taramati and son Rohan.  He also sells himself to a low caste cemetery owner named Veerbahu and gets renamed Veerdas. Episode. 15  "Death of Rohan"     When Rohan dies at the hands of sage Vishwamitra, Taramati takes him to the cemetery. But even after Harishchandra recognizes her, he asks her to get money to pay for the last rites. Episode. 16  "Satyawadi Harishchandra"      Vishwamitra puts Harishchandra to the final test by forcing him to behead Taramati.  When the king passes the test, the sage returns his kingdom and also grants him half of his own powers.
